Capital Investment for Building Product Solutions

We're investing more than half a million pounds in state-of-the-art machinery to streamline operations and increase capacity.

In order meet the demands of our growing order book, we're investing £100,000 on a new Urban double stacking quad welder. The machine will improve both flexibility and accuracy on the production line, leading to shorter production times.

We're also investing £150,000 in two Urban corner cleaners and two glass cutting tables. Arriving in early 2016 is a £275,000 Stuga machining centre and also on order is a Stuga machining saw. These tools will help the production team to increase output, to meet the £14 million currently on the order book.

Building Product Solutions’ managing director, Ian Harrison said: “This investment is just the next step of our growth plan.

“Turnover increased by 60% in the last twelve months and we don’t want to slow down, so we’ve made a real effort to invest back in to business. We’ve just opened our glass plant, recruited new staff and now new machinery will help us fulfil orders and take new ones as construction continues to boom.”

Building Product Solutions achieved a turnover of £3.5 million in the past financial year. It now has £14 million worth of jobs on its books after winning long-term contracts to supply major housing developers such as Persimmon, Taylor Wimpey, Gleeson and Redrow Homes.
